fly fishing tripHomestead Ranch -

Tucked away from the world in the Cottonwoods between the towns of Granby and Hot Sulphur Springs sits this historic ranch. Settled by the family in 1881, the Homestead Ranch has a rich history steeped in cattle, horses and Trout. With about ¾ of a mile of both sides of the upper Colorado River, the ranch offers plenty of room for groups of up to 6. The fish population is wild and healthy with Rainbows and Brown Trout dominating the catch. Brook and Cutthroat Trout are also known to make a rare appearance in our nets. The gentle, grassy banks and mellow currents of the river make it an excellent destination for groups with younger or older folks. The scenery is nothing short of incredible. If capturing family photos or viewing wildlife are on your list, this ranch will not leave you wanting.

fly fishing tripByers Canyon Ranch -

Situated at the upstream end of Byers Canyon you will find our shortest private beat at about a half mile of the Colorado River. Groups of up to 3 anglers will find this beat more than enough for a half day. Every nook and cranny in this stretch is holding strong, wild Brown and Rainbow Trout. Brook Trout and Cutthroat are rare treats. Byers is well suited to several styles of fly fishing and a perfect venue to perfect the European nymphing technique. Access is relatively easy; young and old alike will do just fine. Frequent hatches of Caddis, Stoneflies and Mayflies make for consistently good dry fly fishing. The ranch sits walking distance to the town of Hot Sulphur Springs. A soak in the nearby hot springs is the perfect ending to a half day at Byers.

fly fishing tripCliffview Bends -

“The guides’ favorite.” Ask any one of our guides what their favorite ranch is to fish on their days off and they’ll tell you Cliffview every time. The creek cuts a narrow band of emerald and blue through the high mountain desert north of Kremmling. This pristine ranch rarely gets fished and the fish act accordingly. Rainbows and Browns both call CB home and the average fish is a real stud with trophies always a strong possibility. Cliffview Bends will test the skills of intermediate to advanced anglers, but on a good day, the ambitious beginner can experience a day they'll never forget. Fish Winter Park teaches its advanced dry fly and advanced streamer skills clinics at CB. Maximum 2:1 guide client ratio on this property.

fly fishing tripTroublesome Valley Ranch -

If adventure in an unspoiled, idyllic setting is what you’re after, then Troublesome is for you. A small tributary of the Colorado River located just east of the town of Kremmling, 3 ½ miles of the Troublesome flows through the ranch. The creek through the ranch is small, rugged and incredible. The fish are wild, wily and rewarding. Intermediate to advanced anglers will find this stretch challenging. The creek is as wild as can be, no trails, no mowing, just a bushwhack through the wild. We can accommodate groups of up to 4 at Troublesome.

fly fishing tripTwo Rivers Ranch -

With over 6 miles of fishable water, Two Rivers is by far our most expansive offering. A homestead act ranch settled in the late 1800’s, Two Rivers is a working cattle ranch. Casting dry flies to rising Browns on the creek while the beef graze in the background is the norm here. Two Rivers offers the possibility to fish both the “big river” and “the creek” with walk/wade trips for up to 3. Both hold healthy populations of Rainbow and Brown Trout. It’s a 5 minute drive into Kremmling for lunch at one of the local restaurants or a cold beer after fishing. In addition to fly fishing trips, Fish Winter Park offers fully guided waterfowl hunts and “cast and blast” trips. Availability is strictly limited; please ask about season dates and availability. We hope to add guided float trips on this stretch in the near future.

Granby Ranch -

This private stretch of the Fraser River is only available to Granby Ranch owners or guests of owners, including those staying in vacation rentals. Learn more about fishing at Granby Ranch.
